The practice runs an appointment system and you can make an advance appointment with the Doctor or Nurse of your choice. For Non-urgent appointments, to be certain of seeing the doctor of your choice at the time of your choice, the more advance notice that can give, the better. You can also book your appointments online
We also offer GP HUB Appointments – these are extended hours appointments at selected practices in South Cheshire & Vale Royal that are known as HUBs. These appointments are available to any registered patients from any practice within the boundaries of South Cheshire and Vale Royal. Our reception team are able to book these for you.
If you find that you cannot keep an appointment, please let us know as soon as possible. Your appointment allocation will then be given to someone else and not be wasted, avoiding longer waiting times for other patients.
Here at The Audlem Medical Practice, we have a number of different types of appointment available and this can sometimes cause confusion. The following is a brief explanation of the main types of appointment that we offer but if in doubt, please ask our receptionists who are here to help you.
Routine GP appointment
A 10-minute appointment bookable in advance with the doctor of your choice. Due to time limitations and to be fair to other patients waiting to be seen, the doctors are generally only able to deal with a single problem in each appointment. However, you can request a double appointment if you have more than one problem to discuss.
Nurse Practitioner appointment
A 15-minute appointment with our Nurse Practitioner. In general our Nurse Practitioner is able to see the same variety of patients and problems as the GP’s and is able to examine and prescribe as appropriate. There will always be a GP available to advise.
Nurse Chronic Disease Review appointment
When your annual review is due we will send you a letter to remind you to make an appointment with a member of our nursing team. Our nurses will perform all of the necessary reviews regarding any chronic conditions you may have and your medication, and check that you remain well and on the appropriate treatment. For many of these reviews, we will inform you that you will require a blood and/or urine test beforehand so that our nurses can review your results as part of the check.
Nurse Treatment Room appointment
A 10-20 minute appointment with a member of our nursing team for dressing changes, injections, cervical smears, removing sutures, and many other things. We would ask that you please let our receptionists know why you are booking the appointment so that they can ensure the appointment they make allows sufficient time to deal with the matter.
